Ruth Ann Kinney, 83, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 11:18 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Logan County on Nov. 4, 1928, to the late Forrest A. and Nellie L. Bishop Smith.
On Dec. 15, 1949, she married Dennis Paul “Peck” Kinney in Marysville and he preceded her in death Aug. 24, 2004. She also was preceded in death by a sister, June Jolly; and three brothers, Neal, Donald and Robert Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Jean (John) Shambro of Marion; her son, Larry L. (Jayne) Kinney of Lewistown; six grandchildren, Richard (Melissa) Kinney, Samuel (Christine) Kinney, Melissa (Luke) Schwieterman, Chris (Ann) Shambro, Elizabeth (Keith) Pettis and Jennifer (Dwayne) Dockery; 16 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cecelia and Natalie Shambro, Abigail, James Thomas and Katherine Pettis, Kamree, Kaylee and Kolton Dockery, Jackson Grimes and Franklin Kinney, Allison, Alexandra and Alivia Kinney, and Lukas and Lacey Schwieterman; a sister, Alma Lou (Phil) Westfall of Marysville; and several nieces and nephews.
A registered nurse, she worked at Mary Rutan Hospital and with Dr. Firmin for many years. She attended the Belle Center United Methodist Church and was a member of the 500 Club, as well as the Bridge Club.
Pastor Kevin Smith conducts a graveside service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Following services the family invites everyone to a thanksgiving meal at the Huntsville Event Center, 6886 Wishart St., Huntsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Belle Center United Methodist Church.
