Roger L. Myers, 47, of Lima, died at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born in Lima on Aug. 12, 1965, a son of Ronald and Wanda Jennings Myers.
On Sept. 27, 2008, he married the former Rhonda M. Neely and she survives, along with father- and mother-in-law, Robert “Doug” and Judith Neely of Russells Point; brother-in-law, Rob Neely II of Belle Center; and nephew, Hayden Neely.
He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Amy Neely.
A 1983 graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School, he earned a bachelor of science degree from The Ohio State University in 1987. After graduation, he accepted a position as a teacher with St. John Catholic School, Point Place.
Through the years, he had also worked as a floor manager for Tucker’s Pharmacy in Ottawa and most recently worked at ABC Warehouse until his disability.
He was a member of the Lima First Missionary Church, where he was active with the youth group and Bible quiz team. He was an astronomy enthusiast and as a pet lover was involved in pet rescues. Above all else, he was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
The Rev. Dr. Timothy White conducted a funeral today at the Lima First Missionary Church. Interment was in Center Cemetery, Leipsic.
