Vi Ann LeVan Cook, 68, of Greenfield, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at her residence, following a two-year illness.
Mrs. Cook was born in Bellefontaine on May 5, 1944, to the late Emmet C. and Nellie I. Williams Krouskop.
A 1962 graduate of Indian Lake High School, she resided in Lakeview from the age of five until Dec. 3, 1966, when she married her first husband, Charles R. LeVan. They resided in West Mansfield until his death in 1993. She continued to live in West Mansfield along with her son, Charles “Chip,” until Nov. 21, 1997, when she married the Rev. Jon H. Cook, who survives.
Mrs. Cook was a member of the North Greenfield United Methodist Church, West Mansfield since 1970. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Her joys, blessing and loves were her family and church families and helping her husband along with the ministries of the churches; her home, working in the yard and herb garden; singing, cooking, reading, golf and traveling when possible, and her very special cat, Misty.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack F. Krouskop; a grandson, Caleb Costin; and aunts and uncles.
Also surviving are two daughters, April I. (Ray) Pulfer of Bellefontaine and Sheri S. (Tim Tevis) Costin of West Mansfield; a son, Charles M. LeVan of West Liberty; two stepsons, Don (Lori) Cook of Mechanicsburg and Kevin L. (Stacy Beachy) Cook of Wooster; a stepdaughter, Stacey (Steve) Dye of Kenton; eight grandchildren, Kelley Gibson and Taylor Hodge, both of Bellefontaine, Clay LeVan of West Liberty, Colton Costin of West Mansfield, Connor and Caiden Dye, both of Kenton, and Josh and Jake Cook of South Dakota; and two brothers, Ralph E. Krouskop of Lakeview and C. Richard (Avon) Krouskop of Grady, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
Jon R. Silveous officiates a funeral at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Hope United Methodist Church, Washington Court House. Burial is at a later date in the North Greenfield Cemetery, West Mansfield. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Washington Court House.
