Mary G. Stoltz, 89, of Columbus, entered into eternal rest Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
She was born Feb. 24, 1923, in New Lexington, to the late Martin and Kathleen Gass. She married Richard Stoltz on July 7, 1951, in Marion, and he preceded her in death in 1999.
They resided in Columbus and Worthington for many years. She was a long time member of St. Michael Church in Worthington. She earned degrees in journalism and fine arts from the College of Mt. St. Joseph, Cincinnati, and worked in the advertising department of the Columbus Citizen Journal. She earned a master’s degree in English literature from The Ohio State University and taught primary and high school students at the Ohio School for the Deaf.
She also was preceded in death by her sister, Sister Sarah Gass, SC in 2002. Mary will be missed by her daughters, Sue (Keith) Nason of Zanesfield and Sallie (Justus) Denner of Manchester, Md.; a son, Charles (Kim) Stoltz of Lynchburg; and grandchildren, Christopher Nason, Molly (Adam) Fleming and Linus, Quinn and Noah Stoltz.
The funeral begins at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St., Lewis Center. Fr. Anthony A. Dinovo Jr. officiates and interment follows. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the College of Mount St. Joseph, 5701 Delhi Road, Cincinnati, OH 45233.
