Leo Emberling, 65, of Cullman, Ala., formerly of Kenton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Noland Hospital and Rehab in Birmingham, Ala.
He was born in Kenton on Sept. 10, 1947, a son of Cora Emberling, who survives in Kenton, and the late Leo Emberling. Mr. Emberling also was preceded in death by his bother, Phillip.
On June 29, 1968, he married the former Lee Ann Weber and she survives in Cullman, Ala., along with a son, Lance (Suzzette) Emberling of Marysville; three granddaughters, Ashley Patton of West Mansfield, Brittney Rice of Fayetteville, N.C., and Kristen Patton of Columbus; sisters, Penny Smith, Patricia Ferrell, Pam Gillan, Peggy McCarthy and Phyllis Chritchfield, all of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was employed with Morton Buildings for 41 years, starting his career at the Kenton plant then moving to the Gettysburg, Pa., plant where he was traffic manager for 10 years.
In 1998, he and his wife moved to Cullman, Ala., where he was instrumental in establishing the Garden City, Ala., Morton Buildings Plant as plant manager for the last 13 years.
Leo was an active member of the BPOElks Lodge 1609 of Cullman, where he was a past lodge officer and enjoyed participating in the yearly Christmas visits to local nursing homes.
