Joann L. Vaught, 74, of Cable, died at 7:26 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born in Champaign County on July 20, 1940, a daughter of Claude and Florence Swisher Rice.
Survivors include her husband, Willard Vaught; sons, Roger (Pamela) Griffith of Mechanicsburg, Ronald Jay (Darlene) Griffith of Belle Center, David Ferriman of Cuba, Mo., Robert Ferriman of Florida and Michael Colwell of Arizona; stepdaughters, Karen Williams of Texas, Cynthia (Butch) Fowler of Florida and Patti (Darren) McKown of Licking County; stepsons, Willard (Dawn) Vaught of Zanesfield and Larry (Heidi) Vaught of Italy, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine McDonald of Urbana; half-brother, Charles Rice of Jefferson City, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by sons, Karl Ray Ferriman and Eric Ferriman; grandchild, Shannon Pence; sister, Dorothy Ewing; brothers, Oscar Rice and Kenneth Rice; and brothers-in-law, Chester Vaught and Jerry Vaught.
Joann retired from Northern Floral .
Visitation is two hours prior to a funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, in the Walter & Smith Funeral Home, Urbana. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lewisburg.
