Roberta Ruth Bumpus Drumm, 82, of Marysville, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at Doctor’s Hospice, Fayetteville, Ga.
She was born in Ottawa County, Picher, Okla., on March 1, 1932, to the late Fred and Anna Miller Bumpus. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arthur E. “Art” Drumm, whom she married March 22, 1952, in Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Florence Alice Bumpus and Flora May Bumpus; and two brothers, Fred Bumpus Jr. and Richard Lee Bumpus.
She is survived by three daughters, Jeanene (Ralph Davis) Briggs of Peachtree City, Ga., Kimberly (Randy) Smith of Cañon City, Colo., and Rebecca (Tom) Mash of Middlesboro, Ky.; six grandchildren, Kimberly Beightler, Christopher “Matt” (Maria) Beightler, Stephen Beightler, Joshua Bradford, Anna (Shawn) Hyde and Austin “Hunter” Smith; three great-grandchildren, Eric Maxwell Velasco, Cameron Hyde and Kaylyn Hyde; her sister, Beatrice Barbara Bumpus; and many nieces and nephews.
She and her husband, Arthur, were the co-founders and owners of Marysville Rotary Broom (United Rotary Brush) from 1965 to 1985.
After graduating from Cushing High School in 1949, her brother, Fred Bumpus, sent her to comptometer school in California, where she met her husband.
For many years, she and her family enjoyed weekends at Indian Lake, where she founded the Indian Lake Beacon newspaper.
She was the pianist for the New Dover Methodist Church and also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
Funeral services will be around Labor Day weekend in Marysville.
