Virginia F. “Ginny” Dinovo, 80, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Fletcher on Aug. 4, 1933, to the late Raymond and Mary Wiegman Petty. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Downing; and her brothers, John, Ralph, Harold, Herb, Bill and Dick Petty.
On Feb. 7, 1959, she married Leonard Dinovo in Bellefontaine and he survives, along with their children, Anna Marie (Robert) Schumacher of Cincinnati and Chris Dinovo of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Kevin and Kristin Schumacher, Daniel and Natalie Dinovo and Matt Baughman; a brother, Don “Butch” (Ellen) Petty of Erlanger, Ky.; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Short of Bellefontaine and Dorothy Petty of Delaware, Ohio.
Ginny retired from Bellefontaine City Schools where she served as a teacher’ s aide and secretary.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bellefontaine, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends, cooking, making candy and crocheting. Her biggest joy and love were her grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Father Patrick Sheridan officiates a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery.
