Helen M. Clevenger, 64, of DeGraff, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Springfield on Feb. 9, 1950, to the late Lowell and Norma Krueger Houston. She also was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Damewood, one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by four children, Jim (Connie) Clevenger of DeGraff, June (Jon) Farmer of Huntsville, John Clevenger of Bellefontaine and Joe (Jamie) Clevenger of Plymouth, Mass.; four grandchildren, Linsey Downing, Shaana Downing, Robby Benedict and Kory Clevenger.
Helen had worked as the clerk for the Village of DeGraff for several years. She enjoyed reading and had a passion for cooking.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Marty McCafferty for the exceptional care and support she provided to Helen during the past year.
A memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
