Charlotte MaDonna Hall, 88, went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home Monday, June 9, 2014.
Charlotte was born April 30, 1926, to the late Willard and MaDonna Brown. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell; brothers, Lowell (Romain) Brown, Perk (Lucile) Brown, Caroll (Gertrude) Brown and Frank (Virginia) Brown; sister, Thelma (Fred) Gross; and granddaughter, Amanda Mai Bullock.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Jeanne) Hall, Becky (John) Nicholl and Phyllis (Tim) Macy, all of Bellefontaine, and Russ Hall of Lago Vista, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1944, attended The Ohio State University and Kent State University and achieved a bachelor’s degree in English, a bachelor’s degree in education, and a master’s degree in library science. She was the librarian at Bellefontaine High School until she retired in 1995.
Charlotte was a lifelong member of the Bellefontaine First Church of God, where she was the librarian, taught Sunday School and directed Bible School in past years. She also was a 4-H adviser to a cooking and sewing club for several years.
Charlotte loved to travel with friends and family, and enjoyed spending time with her friends, her children and her grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, followed by lunch in the fellowship hall.
