Edna Mae Harless, 79, of Marion, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, Sunday, March 23, 2014.
She was born in Wayland, Ky., on June 7, 1934, to the late Robert and Alga Collins Martin.
On June 14, 1958, she married James Harless, and he survives.
Edna was a founding member of Restoration Tabernacle Family Life Church and was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her family.
She also is survived by two daughters and five sons, Kathy (Timothy) Downing, Alicia (Ron) Harless, Larry Layne, Tom Layne, Keith Layne, Steven (Paula) Harless and Richie (Beckie) Starling; and 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Delia (Robert) Piatt, Jean Patterson, Raymond (Kim) Martin and Ed (Holly) Martin.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Terry Layne; daughters-in-law, Marilyn and Rebecca Layne; three sisters and a brother, Mabel Gibson, Dinah Benigni, Avoneal Daliessio and Virgil Martin; and a half-sister and three half-brothers.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Boyd-Born Funeral Home, Marion. The Rev. Toney conducts a funeral at 1 p.m. Friday at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial is in the Grand Prairie Cemetery.
