Kayo L .Wirick, 72, of West Liberty, passed away Friday morning, March 14, 2014, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Feb. 16, 1942, to the late Herbert and Ruth E. (Grimes) Wirick. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Rick Allen and Jeffrey Lynn Wirick.
Kayo married the former Melanie Kegg on Feb. 18, 1962, in West Liberty and she survives in West Liberty along with a son, Ryan (Cindy) Wirick of West Liberty; daughter-in-law Dianna (Dale) Ward of West Liberty; six grandchildren, Nicholas Wirick, Zak Wirick, Ciarra Wirick, Grant Ward, Blake Wirick and Jessica (fiancé, Michael Lowe) Wirick; a sister, Joyce (Steve) McCollough of West Liberty; several aunts and uncles; and special friends, Richard McDaniel and Larry Byers.
Kayo retired from Acrux Security where he had worked for 18 years. He had also worked as a press operator for the Bellefontaine Examiner and in the warehouse at Super Foods.
In his spare time, Kayo was a major NASCAR fan and enjoyed all sports. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his dog, Katy. Kayo loved all his grandchildren and enjoyed all their sports.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty, with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating.
