Jeffery Lynn Schmenk, 68, of Waterville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.
Jeff was born in Lima to the late Ernest and Arietta Decker Schmenk. He also was preceded in death by brothers, Jim, Mick and Richard Schmenk; and a son, Scott Burriello.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 33 years, Jane Piper Schmenk; siblings, Sue (Don) Bott of Lima and Roger Schmenk of Ft. Worth, Texas; children, Tony (Lynn) Schmenk of Sylvania, Todd (Lyndsey) Burriello of Franklin, Tenn., Leslie (Dan) Parker of Allentown, Pa., Don (Diane) Hensley Jr. of Bellefontaine, Trisha Kline of Whitehouse and Holly (Brian) Root of Morganville, N.J.; and grandchildren, David and Danielle Schmenk, Joe Oliver, Kaitlyn and Nick Kline and Jeremy, Austin and Piper Root.
He attended Lima Bath High School, where he was a member of the football team. He worked in sales and management until his retirement in 2009.
Jeff enjoyed touring with Model A clubs, restoring a 1976 Corvette with his son, Tony, playing golf and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
He was an avid Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was an active member on several committees within the Community of Christ church.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Waterville. A funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Community of Christ Lutheran Church, Whitehouse. Interment is at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community of Christ Lutheran Church and the Toledo Zoo.
