Rolland Alvin Finley, 88, of Lakeview, died at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born in Clay Township on Nov. 21, 1925, a son of the late J. Lester and Tressie Metz Finley. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Amarilla, whom he married March 27, 1949.
Surviving are his son, Paul (Pam) Finley of New Braunfels, Texas; grandsons, Jeff (Allison) Finley of San Antonio, Texas, and Brett Finley of New Braunfels, Texas; sister- and brother-in-law Nancy and Jim Heininger of Granville; and several nieces and nephews.
In 1943, Rolland graduated from Blume High School in Wapakoneta. He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra, where he had served the congregation in various roles over the years including financial secretary and deacon.
Pastor Shannon Vogelezang conducts a funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Montra. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
