Marvin D. Beck, 78, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at his residence.
He was born in Bellefontaine on Jan. 23, 1936, a son of the late Frank and Mattie Pickering Beck. Marvin also was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew; and sister, Rosalie Ferguson.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Brake Beck; daughters, Kelly J. (Doug) Cronkleton and Krissy J. (Norm) Marshall; stepson, Donn McBride; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brunotte; grandchildren, Skyler (fiancé Kyle Whitaker), Sierra and Savana Cronkleton and Zane, Zoey and Zayla Marshall; great-grandchild, Alexis Grace Whitaker; former wife, Nita Woodruff; and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin was a member of the Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion, AMVETS and Mary Rutan Hospital Guild.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and driving Enduro Go-Karts. He also enjoyed harness racing, was a member of the Trotting Association and past president of the Standardbred Association.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until a funeral at noon Friday at Jennings Farley Funeral Home, 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty.
