Johna Mae Culp McCormick, 79, of Summerfield, Fla., passed away suddenly Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, with loving family at her side.

She was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Los Angeles, and worked throughout her life as an activities director in a health care facility, and recently took pride in home health care.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, caring for her dog, Cuddles, (whom she rescued) and Kitty, her cat, studying family history, and singing and praising God.

She always put others first.

She is survived by five sons and a daughter, Don (Kim) Culp of New Albany, Bob (Judy) Culp of Rushsylvania, Joy (Bill) Gates of Marysville, Dave (Joyce) Culp of Orlando, Fla., Bill (Lorrie) Culp in the Middle East, and Scott (Michele) Culp of Apoka, Fla.; siblings, Lillian Hunsicker of Washington State, Rachael Hyde of Arkansas and Vern Hyde of Florida; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McCormick; a sister, Nadine; and her parents.

A memorial service begins at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goshen Friends Church, 5527 County Road 153, Zanesfield (Mad River Mountain exit from U.S. Route 33).
