Cathy Jo Prenger, 50, of 8737 Oldtown Road, Celina, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at her home with her family.
She was born in St. Marys on Dec. 31, 1963, to John and Jill Hollman Bowers, who survive in St. Marys.
On Aug. 11, 1990, she married John Prenger and he survives, along with her children, Austin and Shelby Prenger of Celina; and brothers, Mark (Patty) Bowers of St. Marys and Dan (Barbara) Bowers of Belle Center.
Cathy was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eric L. Bowers.
She graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School with the Class of 1982 and was employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber (Veyance) in St. Marys. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina.
Cathy was a 4-H adviser-member for Auglaize and then Mercer County. She was a Girl Scout and Rainbow Girl of St. Marys.
Riding horses was her passion. She was a life member of the American Quarter Horse Association and volunteered at the Lima Equestrian Therapy.
A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, with Fr. Kenneth G. Alt C.PP.S. officiating. Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and the Mercer County Fairground 4-H Horse and Cattle Show Barn.
