Barbara Jean Hill, 75, of Russells Point, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 25, 2014, at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
She was born in Springfield on July 25, 1938, to the late Kenneth L. and Myrtle A. Teach Palmer.
On Feb. 14, 1981, she married Robert T. Hill and he preceded her in death Jan. 28, 2003. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert P. “Feeney” Palmer, Jerry L. Palmer and Ronald L. Palmer.
She is survived by five children, Shelley (Ralph) Hale of Payson, Ariz., Lisa Duvall of Cable, DeAnne Goebel of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jerry (Jan) Houy of Bentonville, Ariz., and Dawn (Chuck) Stevens of DeGraff; 11 grandchildren, Renee, Kandi, Morgan, Danielle, Nicole, Heather, Desirea, Jeri, Taylor, Caleb and Brooke; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Clark of Russells Point and Kay Reprogle of Lakeview; a brother, Donald Palmer of Lakeview; several nieces and nephews; and her adorable puppies, Skipper and Sissy.
Barbara attended Stokes Local Schools in Lakeview and retired from Holloway Sportswear in Jackson Center. She enjoyed being on Indian Lake, baking, traveling, fishing and gardening. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her family.
Pastor Bryan Meadows conducts a funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation two hours prior. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
