Carl B. Webb, 76, of Russells Point, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He was born in Louisa, Ky., on July 12, 1937, to the late Carl and Carrie Terry Webb. He also was preceded in death by sisters, Geraldine Parrot, Mary Jane Jarboe and Roberta Pack; and a brother, James Donald Webb.
Carl married Patricia Godwin on Oct. 26, 1968, in Tarlton. They were married for 23 years before they divorced. They remained friends and she survives him, along with his children, Angela K. (Frank) Brandyberry of Lakeview, Matthew R. (Kim) Webb of Apopka, Fla., Rhonda F. (Anthony) Cook of Russells Point and Carl A. “Shorty” (Denise) Webb of Sanford, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, John Bob Webb of Circleville and Larry R. (Jane) Webb of Circleville; sisters, Darlene Webb of Columbus, Frances Gilley of Middletown and Anita Hood of Apopka, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl worked as a janitor for the Riverside School System and later worked for the Village of DeGraff in the water department. Most recently, Carl was working at D&J Scrap Metal.
He had attended Wesley Chapel Church in West Liberty. He loved his guitar and enjoyed singing and playing bluegrass music.
Carl also spent time watching television, especially the news and sporting events. He liked to help people and he never met a stranger. Carl was known to have a nickname for everybody.
Pastor Jeff Hill officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is two hours prior. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
