Karen Sue Oder, 65, of Interlachen, Fla., entered into rest Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family, after a brief struggle with cancer.
She was born in Portsmouth on Nov. 4, 1947, to the late James Johnson and Helen Lewis. She also was preceded in death by her dearly beloved brother, James Meador and beautiful daughter, Janette Wright.
Karen is survived by her spouse, Carl Oder of Interlachen, Fla.; her children, James (Candy) Pilkington of Baltimore, Ohio, Judy (Dave) Grimes of Quincy and Joseph (Brittany) Pilkington of Bellefontaine; stepchildren, Rachel Oder and Celeste Dockery; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Vernon (Valerie) Porter of Laguna Niguel, Calif., William (Carolyn) Porter of Seattle and Rita Porter of Columbus; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and close friends.
Karen was a member of The Church of God, where she had many sisters in Christ who were a great comfort to her and her family.
A Celebration of Life is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Quincy United Methodist Church, 111 South St., Quincy, with graveside service to follow.
