William Douglas Beach, 64, of Russells Point, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday evening, Oct. 6, 2013, in the emergency room at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Doug was born in Muncie, Ind., on July 1, 1949, to the late Vernie and Virginia Coffin Beach. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Beach.
On Nov. 6, 1976, he married the former Jacqueline Fogt at the Botkins United Methodist Church, and she survives, along with three daughters, Renee Beach and Angela (Richard) Epperson, both of Louisville, Ky., and Melissa (Joe) Perez of Russells Point; a stepson, Kevin (Kimberly) Carr of Anna; seven grandchildren, Destiny and Kadie Henson, Brittney Epperson, Blake and Preston Wright, and Justin and Jacob Carr; two brothers, Ray Beach and Mark Beach, both of Russells Point; and many nieces and nephews.
Doug was a 1969 graduate of Delta High School in Indiana. He was a retired mechanic and formerly worked at Bud’s Marine, Major Marine and Spend-A-Day Marina, all at Indian Lake, and Apple Farm Implements in Botkins.
He was a member of the 700 Club. He enjoyed working on muscle cars, especially his 1965 Mustang convertible, attending car shows and working with his hands.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and dog, Teddy.
The Rev. Bryan Meadows conducts a funeral at 3 p.m. Thursday at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation two hours prior. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery at a later date.
