Sadie Mae Lyons, 80, of Ada, died at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Lima Manor, Lima.
She was born in DeGraff on Dec. 13, 1932, to the late Jesse and Marie Jones Conner.
On Sept. 9, 1968, she married Frank T. Lyons and he died Feb. 17, 2009. She also was preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Lyons; stepdaughter, Cynthia Lyons; and two stepgranddaughters, Connie Rinaldi and Teresa Gline.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Dearwester of Bellefontaine and Donald Dearwester of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters, Debra (Lowell) Bowers of Lakeview and Denise (Rick) Hess of Talladega, Ala.; two stepsons: Ronald (Sue) Lyons Sr. and Thomas (Chris) Lyons, both of Lima; five stepdaughters, Frances (Steve) Whetstone of St. Marys, Carole Martin of Lima, Kathy (Bill) Watkins of McGuffey, Barbara Taylor and Christina (Randy) Taylor, both of Lima; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; 18 great-stepgrandchildren; and special friends; Mike and Janelle Blackburn of Ada.
Sadie was a homemaker and previously was a foster mother for many years, helping many children.
She previously owned an antique store in Ada called Lyon’s Antiques with her husband Frank. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Holmes County and playing cards.
Sadie dearly loved the Lord.
Pastor Dan Campbell officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, where visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to the service Saturday.
