Russel D. Millisor, 80, of Belle Center, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 31, 2013, at Green Hills Community, West Liberty.

He was born in LaRue on Nov. 8, 1932, to the late Willis and Willa Fields Millisor. He also was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Millisor, in 1987; brothers, Robert, Darrel, John, Junior, Irven, Ralph, Dick and Norman Millisor; and sister, Betty Anshutz.

On Nov. 27, 1957, Russel married the former Nancy Smith in the Belle Center United Methodist Church and she survives in Belle Center, along with daughters, Jean Ann Millisor of Westerville, Deb (Brian) Thompson of Belle Center and Julie Smith of Marysville; grandson, Logan Conley and granddaughter, Tyler Smith; stepgrandchildren, Derek (Linda) Thompson and Jennifer Thompson; great-stepgranddaughters, Gabby and Lili Thompson; brother, Ronald “Jack” Millisor of Marion; sisters-in-law, Vivian Millisor of Belle Center, Eva Millisor of Marion and Sue Millisor of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A 1950 graduate of LaRue High School, Russel obtained his bachelor of science degree in education from Ohio Northern University and his master’s of education from Wright State University. He taught and coached in Huntsville and Belle Center, and was the principal for Bellefontaine Middle School for many years and assistant to the superintendent of Bellefontaine Schools, before retiring in 1988.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was a charter member of the BMRT Rescue Squad. Russel was a member of Belle Center United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center, where Pastor Kevin Smith officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
