Mary Teresa Stevens, 78, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, 2013, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
She was born in Bellefontaine on Nov. 5, 1934, to the late Edward M. and Odilla F. Dapore Thobe.
She was also preceded in death by a son. William E. Stevens; brothers William and Frank Thobe; and a great-granddaughter Hatie Stevens in 2002.
She married Omar Ray Stevens in 1957 in Bellefontaine. They divorced and he preceded her in death in 2001.
A 1955 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she was the Chaplain. She also was a member of Tri-County Seniors Groups 2 and enjoyed her cats, crocheting, working on her puzzle books and watching the Game Show Network. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Survivors include her children, Teresa (Charles) Cunningham, Ray E. (Francis) Stevens and John A. (Cheri) Stevens, all of Bellefontaine, Robert D. Stevens of Huntsville and Mark W. (Paula) Stevens of West Mansfield; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Stevens of Indiana; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother Lawrence J. (Florence) Thobe of Bellefontaine; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, with Pastor Bill Riley officiating.
