Kathryn E. Goldberg, 86, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 10, 2013, at Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born in Columbus on Aug. 17, 1926, to the late Leroy and Winifred Conroy Adkins.
On Jan. 1, 1947, she married Harry E. Goldberg in Columbus and he preceded her in death in 2006. Kathryn also was preceded in death by three infant sons.
Kathryn is survived by two daughters, Melody (Roger) Alcorn of Morehead, Ky., and Jacqueline Carol Halloran of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Gary Edward (Donna) Goldberg of Lakeview; five grandchildren, Ryan (Tiffany) Black, Joshua (Jennifer) Black, Amanda (Greg) Carr, Michael Goldberg and Kodee (TJ) Marquis; two stepgrandchildren, Tony Halloran and Beth (John) Lister; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Kathryn worked at Bulldog/Siemens and later worked as a cook at Valley Hi. In the 1940s, she worked in the surgery department at Mary Rutan Hospital. She eventually moved to New Mexico and worked as a cook at several colleges and sororities.
A member of Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, she was an active member of the Priscilla Circle and Sunday School.
Pastor Ed Beale officiates a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church.
