Helen M. Kaylor, 97, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, Fla.
She was born in Bellefontaine on June 25, 1916, to the late Edman and Rosetta Shely Wambaugh.
Helen was married to Harry Ivan Kaylor for 47 years, and he preceded her in death in 1986. She also was preceded in death by her siblings, Viola Gowans, Carl Wambaugh, Thelma Patterson, Roberta Bush and an infant brother, Malcolm Wambaugh.
She is survived by nieces, Carol Pollman of North Ft. Myers, Fla., Susan Chwastiak of Charlotte, N.C., and nephew, Dr. Larry Patterson of Kansas City, Mo.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bellefontaine, and had attended business school in Columbus. Helen also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 384 from 1952 to 1968.
Helen and Ivan were the owners and operators of several Five & Dime Stores in the central Ohio area.
She was a Realtor in Granville prior to moving to Florida.
A graveside service is at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
