Doris T. Whitlatch, 92, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Gables at Green Pastures, Marysville.
She was born in Logan County on May 2, 1921, to the late Calvin Frederick and Olive Theresa Hyer Yoesting.
On Nov. 24, 1939, she married Stephen A. Whitlatch and he preceded her in death March 25, 1991. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Clyde and Edwin.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Walter) Wyse of Marysville; two grandchildren, Steven Scott (Shelley) Wyse of Dublin and Robert F. Wyse of Marysville; three great-grandchildren, Griffin, Blake and Abigail; a sister, Mary Louise Fout of Bellefontaine; a special friend, Raymond Titus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris had worked at Jamison Drug Store in Bellefontaine for a number of years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine for more for than 60 years. She was a member of the Mizpah Circle of King’s Daughters and the United Methodist Women, where she was in charge of the food line for the annual bazaar.
In her high school years, she was active in both playing and teaching music.
She spent many happy hours at her place on Siesta Key.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Pastor Ed Beale officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
