Ruth Evelyn Malan Clingerman, 85, died Friday, March l, 2013, at the Princeton University Medical Center in Plainsboro, N.J., following a sudden illness.
For the past three years, she was a resident of the Cranbury Care Facility in Monroe Township, N.J.
Ruth was the loving wife of Cullen Joseph “Joe” Clingerman, whom she married June 11, 1949, in his home town of Bellefontaine. He preceded her in death in 1999. She also was preceded in death by siblings, Bemis Malan and Norma Lee “Sis” Malan Helmig.
Ruth is survived by three children, Michael (Diane) of Dublin, Christopher (Geraldine) of Dayton and Philip (Judith) of East Windsor, N.J.; three siblings, Robert Malan of Austin, Texas, Rita Malan Loehr of Jacksonville, Fla., and Patricia Malan Baldwin of Orange Park, Fla.; and sadly missed by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Ruth was frequently heard to say that the proudest accomplishment of her life was and would always be the three wonderful and worthwhile sons whom she had presented the world. To her, family was everything. She will be sorely missed by that family.
Interment of her ashes, alongside husband Joe, is at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery columbarium in Bellefontaine.
