Dorothy R. Cox, 89, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at Logan Acres Care Center.
She was born in Scioto County on July 12, 1924, to the late Ollie and Ota Humble Mosbarger.
On Aug. 11, 1941, she married W. Leo Cox in Magnetic Springs and he preceded her in death May 18, 1986. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Hazel White, George Mosbarger, Martha Marmon, Margaret Mosbarger and Irene Bailey; and sons-in-law, Benjamin Evans, Charles Martin and Gary Legge.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Sharon (Clell) Martin-Agler of Grove City, Gary (Donna) Cox of Russells Point, Sarah Jane (Lewis) Cunningham of Rushsylvania, Barry (Cindy) Cox of Belle Center and Beverly (Mark) Thurston of Valrico, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jim Mosbarger of Albany, Ore., Howard (Eileen) Mosbarger of Urbana, Don (Marsha) Mosbarger and David (Diane) Mosbarger, both of Bellefontaine and Garnet (Fred) Roesel of Lafayette, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of DeGraff Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Wal-Mart after working many years in the fabric department.
In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling and was a member of King’s Daughters. She loved to sew and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds.
At the age of 60, Dorothy received her GED.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to a funeral led by Mike Idle at 11 a.m. Friday at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine. Burial is in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
