Edward T. McClain, 71, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013.
He was born June 3, 1942, the eldest of 16 children of the late Florence Olivia “Martha” Thomas Roby and William Jacob McClain, and was the adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCullough.
Ed lived 51 years happily with his wife, Minnie Pearl, who preceded him in death.
He was a terrific father to Icy Christine (Roger) Collett, Timothy (Annabelle) McClain and Coriene (Mike) Ilse. He also is survived by grandchildren, Kyle (Mary) Wright, Kylee (Dan) Priest, William (Andrea) Roberts, Cheyenne (Alyssa) Knasel, Stephanie McClain, Thairon Stanley, Shelby McClain, Sage Stanley and Jasmine Board; many great-grandchildren, including Randy (Marie) Davis, whom he considered a son; several nieces and nephews; and his longest living friend, Mary Davis.
He worked and retired from Ford Motor Company in 1999, after 31 years of service.
He loved playing music and never met a stranger. He played in a bluegrass band and loved open mic nite at Canterbury Coffee and Tea.
Visitation is two hours prior to a funeral at noon Thursday at Jennings Farley Funeral Home, West Liberty, Ohio.
