Herbert E. McAdams, 79, of Richmond, Ind., died Wednesday morning, April 3, 2013, at Reid Hospital.
He was born in Rushsylvania on Oct. 25, 1933, to the late Earl R. and Lena May Schroyer McAdams and had lived in the Richmond area since 1963.
His wife, Patty Varner McAdams, died Dec. 12, 2009. He also was preceded in death by a son, Steven McAdams, Oct. 13, 2005; son, Jeffrey McAdams, March 11, 2010; and three sisters.
Survivors include his sons, James H. McAdams of Syracuse, Ind., and David L. McAdams of Richmond, Ind.; daughter, Bonnie McCurdy of Bluffton, Ind.; sister, Janice Grigalunas of Kenton; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Herb worked in sales in the dry goods industry and had worked for Adam H. Bartel Company and for Blue Bell Corporation of North Carolina.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Whitewater Valley Ham Radio Club.
A graveside service is at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
