Diana D. Gibson, 57, of West Mansfield, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born in Bellefontaine Feb. 19, 1956, to Donald and Nancy Green Blair, who survive in West Mansfield. She also is survived by her husband of nearly 26 years, John Gibson; her children, John David “J.D.” (Jessica) Gibson of East Liberty and Haley Gibson, 17 and a junior at Benjamin Logan High School; a stepdaughter, Tammy (Lewis) Boggs of Morehead, Ky.; two grandchildren, Kane and Kaelin; three stepgrandchildren, Courtney and Shelby Sedgwick and Tyler Bevington; her siblings, Danny (Jane) Blair of Zanesfield, Debra (James) Furlong and David Blair, both of West Mansfield, and Darla “Sandy” (Craig) Shaw of Mt. Victory; two brothers-in-law, William (Rebecca) Gibson and Robert Gibson, both of Bellefontaine; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Foster and Avis Green; paternal grandparents, Orville and Erie Blair; father- and mother-in-law, Delbert “Hoot” and Modjeska Gibson; and a brother-in-law, Harry Gibson.
She was a longtime employee of AGC where she began working in 1987. She graduated from Benjamin Logan High School in 1974 and became a licensed beautician in the same year.
She and her husband attended many car shows together, and she was most proud of the ’71 Torino that her husband had restored for her.
More than anything, she was a loving wife and mother, a devoted grandmother, and a beloved daughter, sister and aunt. She loved watching her daughter perform in the marching band and cherished moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield, where the Rev. Doug Thompson officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Following cremation, burial is at Byhalia Cemetery at a later date.
