Juanita J. Nickell, 92, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Ross County on Dec. 13, 1920, a daughter of the late Samuel M. and Rena Della Mathews Roosa. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Marion C. Nickell, in 1988; three brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, Stephen (Linda) Williams of Springfield; two daughters, Sherrie (Mark) Childers of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Kelly (Junior) Tolliver of Lexington, Ohio; six grandchildren, Stacey (Jude) Stanley, Tracey (Nello) Adducchio, Scott (Cherry) Morris, Jenna (Phil) Chapa, Heather (Mark) Brauchler and Nick (Heather) Kanouse; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Polly (Jerry) Salyers of Sun City, Fla., and Phyllis Whitmer of Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, Springfield, where The Rev. Ken Woode officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Saturday. Entombment is in the Rose Hill Mausoleum.
