UPDATE: Because of inclement weather, services for the funeral of Robert G. Fox have been changed. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, with a funeral at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Walter & Smith Funeral Home, Urbana.
Robert G. “Bob” Fox, 67, of Urbana, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, in Heartland of Urbana.
He was born in Urbana on March 2, 1945, a son of the late Jack Houser Fox and Mary Randall Fox. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Phyllis Joan McDonald. Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Fox of Bellefontaine; sons, Jack H. Fox II of Bellefontaine and Jay Fox of Colorado; grandchildren, Joseph Brown, Kelsey Fox, Emily Fox, Jonathan Kinchen, Haley Fox, Ashley Fox and Mason Fox; great-grandchild, Briley Mycole Ward.
He graduated from Urbana High School, where he was a MVP on the high school basketball team, and worked at International Harvester Company.
Robert was a former member of the Urbana Moose, American Legion Post 120 Pearce Kerns, AMVETS, VFW and Eagles.
He loved to play poker and softball.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Walter & Smith Funeral Home, Urbana, where a funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Burial is in the Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana, with military honors by American Legion Post 120 Pearce Kerns.
