Robert Thad Carr, 80, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., died at home on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.
He was born in Belle Center on March 23, 1932, to the late Carl Sr. and Margaret Ligitt Carr.
On June 6, 1954, he married the former Erma Lingle, who survives.
He is also survived by a brother, Carl M. Carr Jr. of Rosewood; two daughters, Caryn J. ( Donald) Grell II of Carlisle and Margaret C. (Clark) Upton of Virginia; two sons, Robert Thad (Rebecca) Carr II of South Carolina and Randal A. (Susan) Carr of Maryland; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, David Carr and a sister, Mary Margaret Carr.
A 1950 graduate of Quincy High School, he graduated from the (now) University of Findlay in 1954 and the University of Toledo in 1959 with a master’s of education degree. He worked 32 years as an educator, retiring as principal of West Branch Elementary School in Morrisdale, Pa.
A funeral service was conducted Monday in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
