WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — Detectives say they are searching a ravine in southwest Ohio for evidence in a 22-year-old unsolved murder.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office said Monday it was returning to the area of Washington Township, northeast of Cincinnati, where the body of Columbus-area salesman Dick Woods was found on Nov. 9, 1992.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1kRjNiJ ) reports that barriers went up and the road was closed Monday as investigators searched for unspecified evidence.
The 41-year-old Woods was reported missing on Oct. 8, 1992, after calling his home outside Columbus. His body was found shot twice in the ravine near the Interstate 71 exit ramp, 1 ½ miles from the interstate rest stop where his 1990 Lexus was recovered.
The search is expected to take most of the week.
