MOUNT GILEAD, Ohio (AP) — Ohio troopers say an all-terrain vehicle collided with a sport utility vehicle, and two riders from the ATV later died.
The State Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred Monday night west of Mount Gilead, roughly 40 miles north of Columbus. Troopers say the ATV was crossing southbound on state Route 95 in Morrow County and drove into the path of an eastbound SUV.
The patrol says two Edison residents who had been riding the ATV were flown to a Columbus hospital and later died. Troopers say 58-year-old driver Kenneth Bush and 65-year-old passenger Elizabeth Bush were not wearing seat belts.
Troopers say the SUV driver was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The patrol says alcohol didn't appear to be a factor in the collision.
