ST. MARYS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities are awaiting an autopsy to explain the death of a western Ohio man killed in an apparent freak accident.
The Auglaize (AWE'-glaze) County Sheriff's Office says the body of 36-year-old Richard Moon was found Sunday afternoon hanging upside-down from a creek bridge outside St. Marys, his leg caught in a guardrail support.
Moon's car was found wrecked nearby.
Sheriff Allen Solomon says detectives believe Moon got in a car accident before walking across the bridge.
Solomon declined to say whether Moon had any head trauma or how he might have died until an autopsy is performed this week.
He says foul play and suicide are not suspected.
Solomon says Moon grew up in the area and has extensive family there, including his parents and children.
