CINCINNATI (AP) — A 1-year-old who was badly burned in a house fire the day before Christmas remains in critical condition at a Cincinnati hospital.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1btl2cJ ) reports that the fire on Tuesday morning in West Price Hill burned about 80 percent of the toddler's body.
The boy was still being treated Friday at Shriners Hospital for Children.
Firefighters arriving at the two-family home found the baby's mother holding her unresponsive child and heavy fire on the first floor of the building.
Everyone was able to get out safely, although the baby's father burned his foot while rescuing the baby from his crib, and had to be treated at a hospital.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
