WOOSTER, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio sheriff investigating the death of an inmate found hanging in a jail restroom says authorities have interviewed other people in custody who were in contact with the man.
Wayne County Sheriff Travis Hutchison tells the Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/17VyvyP ) that another inmate found a 53-year-old Shreve man hanging by his shirt in the jail in Wooster early Sunday. Paramedics and deputies weren't able to revive the man.
The coroner was investigating the cause of death.
The newspaper reports the man had been behind bars since Sept. 27 for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was slated for release in late March.
