Window shot on Delaware County school bus; children not hurt

LEWIS CENTER, Ohio (AP) — Police in central Ohio say someone shot out a window on a school bus but none of the children onboard was seriously hurt.

The window of the back door was shattered Thursday morning as a bus picked up elementary school students for the Olentangy Local School District in Lewis Center, north of Columbus. It wasn't immediately clear whether the weapon was some sort of gun or a pellet rifle.

A spokeswoman for the Delaware County sheriff's office told The Columbus Dispatch that deputies had a description of a suspect and were searching a nearby mobile home park.

The district says two students suffered minor abrasions and were checked by medics as a precaution. The children were moved from the damaged bus to another bus and were taken to school.
