YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio couple has been arrested on charges they repeatedly sexually abused a young boy.
The Youngstown Vindicator reports that a 51-year-old woman and her 44-year-old boyfriend, both of Canfield Township, were indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury on Thursday on five counts of rape, 10 counts of gross sexual imposition and five counts of endangering children.
A detective recently employed by the county sheriff's office said the two were arrested Friday. The Associated Press is not naming the couple in order to protect the child's identity.
Retired detective Terry Martin told the newspaper the boy's father first approached detectives in March because his son had been saying the last couple years he had been touched inappropriately.
The couple's relationship to the boy was not immediately clear.
