CLEVELAND (AP) — A Superman license plate in Ohio will be available in October honoring the comic hero who was created in northeast Ohio.
The Plain Dealer of Cleveland (http://bit.ly/19U7I6a ) reports that state Rep. Bill Patmon got the license plate language inserted into Ohio's recently passed state budget.
The Cleveland Democrat said he wanted to make sure the plate would be available for this year's 75th anniversary of the debut of Superman. The comic hero was created by two teenagers near Cleveland in the 1930s.
The license plate bears the Superman "S'' insignia and the words, "Truth, Justice and the American Way."
It will cost $20 plus the typical registration fee of $34.50 plus local taxes. Ohioans replacing existing plates with the Superman plate will pay $20 plus replacement fees.
