XENIA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say an armed robbery suspect was wounded in a shootout with Ohio police that also left an officer injured by either flying glass or gunfire.
It happened in Xenia, near Dayton, on Tuesday night when a man with a.45-caliber semi-automatic pistol tried to rob a GameStop store.
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/14LZzu1 ) reports that the robber took a store employee hostage and forced her to drive off. Officers said he stopped the car and ran off, firing into a police cruiser that cut him off.
The man was hit once in the ensuing gunfight and hospitalized in unknown condition. The officer hit by either glass or gunfire suffered a laceration to his arm. He was treated at a hospital and released.
No names have been released.
