Ohio River Paddlefest expects 2,000 participants

CINCINNATI (AP) — Organizers expect over 2,000 people in canoes and kayaks to take part in the annual Ohio River Paddlefest in Cincinnati.

Events Saturday include 11-mile amateur canoe and kayak races and a 5-mile, stand-up paddleboard race. Live music and racer awards also were on the agenda. The paddle races launch from Coney Island. A Finish Line Festival also was planned at Yeatman's Cove in downtown Cincinnati.

A CincyPedalfest Ride for the Trail cycling event starting at Yeatman's Cove also was scheduled for Saturday.

Earlier festivities in this year's event included a children's outdoor expo and a music festival at Coney Island.
