HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — The owner of a suburban Dayton nightclub where two men were fatally shot last weekend has vowed to keep the bar open, as city officials step up efforts to shut it down.
Huber Heights officials have been trying to close the Heat Nightclub for at least a year before the shooting Saturday night left two dead and another wounded.
Club owner Jessica Kennedy told the city council Monday that she was sorry the shooting occurred, but said "this could have happened anywhere."
The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/12wLNKu ) reports that public records show the city presented evidence of fights, gunshots and numerous police calls to the club to try to have its liquor license revoked. But two Franklin County judges rejected those arguments last month.
