Police: Mormon Temple shooting was murder-suicide

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say a man who shot his estranged wife in the parking lot of a Mormon Temple in Columbus six weeks ago has died, and theirs deaths are being classified as a murder-suicide.

Columbus police say 33-year-old Soth Sin died Wednesday evening, and her husband, 65-year-old Sokkha Chant, died Thursday morning of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Both had been hospitalized since the Feb. 26 shootings.

Authorities say Chant shot Sin after forcing a car carrying her and another man into the temple parking lot. Investigators say Chant faced a domestic violence charge at the time.

Police say Chant shot Sin while the other man fled, then shot himself. The other man was not struck by gunfire.
