MONROE, Ohio (AP) — Police in southern Ohio insist they are making progress in solving the slaying of an 87-year-old woman whose body was found in the trunk of her Cadillac five months ago.
Barbara Howe's body was found in the trunk of the car parked in a lot in Middletown, between Dayton and Cincinnati, Nov. 1. Her daughter had reported her missing four days earlier.
No arrests have been made despite 75 tips from the public and a $10,000 reward. Her daughter, Donna Wesselman, says she thinks her mother, who lived in a retirement village, knew her killer.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/14KpcP6 ) reports that police know how and where Howe died but have declined to release that information.
Detective Gregg Myers tells the newspaper that the investigation is "in a good place."
