COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Residents in much of Ohio are awakening to several inches of snow with a messy commute ahead as a spring storm moves across the state.
A wintery mix that began Sunday night left a blanket of 2 to 6 inches of wet snow in parts of the state Monday morning. More was expected throughout the morning.
Some schools that weren't already on spring break this week were closed or delayed. Winter weather advisories were in effect for many parts of the state through Monday afternoon.
Motorists were being advised to allow extra time for travel Monday morning.
The center of the low pressure area was expected to move across Ohio and Kentucky as it makes its way to the eastern United States.
