Girls Scouts donate, tour pet shelter


Brownie Troop 20771 recently donated a number staples to and toured the Humane Society Serving Logan County, learning the value of the shelter and the importance of their donations to help the facility operate. ILES kicks off Summer Reading Program

ILreading-progIndian Lake Elementary School kicked off its Summer Reading Program with a Wild West assembly, where reading Gurus “Fisherwoman Frieda” and “Eartha Worm” encouraged the students to read non-fiction titles, such as biographies and instructional books. Students selected three books to take home with them. If students fill out their reading log and take it back to school in the fall, they will receive prizes like a bandana, candy, even more books and an extra recess. Golden presentation

BIS-LCCS-donateAmong the presentations Thursday morning at Bellefontaine Intermediate School’s Gold Star Assembly for academic achievement was a check for $4,020 to the Logan County Cancer Society, representing the funds students raised at the school’s recent Walking for Wigs relay event. The amount collected exceeded the goal of between $2,000 and $3,000, organizers said. Discovery Center spring program video available for purchase


The Discovery Center is selling videos of its 2015 spring program for $15 each, and forms have been sent home with students. Nearly 200 children from seven classes participated in the program at the Bellefontaine High School auditorium, which had an “Under the Sea” theme. Bellefontaine High School auditorium.
